Our approach to global sustainability challenges is based on our conviction that long-term success can only be achieved with a motivated workforce that lives in a thriving society and in harmony with ecological principles. In line with this systemic approach, we are not prepared to compromise when it comes to the future of our planet. 

Even though we already operate the most sustainable production in our industry today, it is our declared goal to deliver sustainable solutions and achieve climate-neutral production by 2042.

Producing in line with the principles of sustainability

Our sustainability strategy is guided by the science-based principles of sustainability developed by The Natural Step and are universally applicable. Targeting to achieve environmental sustainability, the roadmap for the decarbonization and increased energy efficiency of our processes has set the course for climate-neutral production after Kandelium was founded in 2021. Our roadmap is based on an ISO 50001-certified energy management system that has been established in all business processes since 2012. It comprises three strategic pillars that show how we want to establish climate-friendly industrial processes and achieve climate-neutral production by 2042:

  • Switching to renewable energies
  • Expansion of innovative process technologies
  • Increasing energy efficiency

As our report shows, we have already been able to demonstrate the first successes in implementing our roadmap. Our commitment to socio-ecological sustainability goes far beyond mere promises. We continue to work actively on continuously improving our processes, products and technologies and making them more sustainable. In doing so, we not only strive for success, but also for responsibility - responsibility for the environment, for our employees and for society.
